Our Projects
At Wells Community Shed, we're all about getting creative and making a difference in our community. Our projects go beyond the typical "shed at the bottom of your garden." We're here to combat loneliness, bring people together, and empower individuals through skill-building and craftsmanship.
Members of Wells Community Shed work on a variety of woodworking projects that benefit both themselves and the broader community. Whether it's crafting something from scratch or restoring a cherished family heirloom, our members are always ready to roll up their sleeves and get to work.
Woodworking Projects:
In our woodworking projects, we cover a wide range of items to suit various needs and interests, including Wood Turning, Furniture Repair and Restoration, Chair and Stool Weaving, Wood Carving, Walking Sticks, Shelving/Racks (including Coats), Garden Furniture, Flower Containers & Planters, Hedgehog/Tortoise/Bird Houses, Insect Hotels, Picture Framing, Wine Racks, Compost Bins, Trays, Tables, Cabinets, and Stools.
Current Projects:
- Multi-function Workbench: We're currently working on a multi-function workbench with under-bench storage, including 20 drawers and 4 cupboards, to enhance the functionality of our shed.
- Memorial Garden Bench Repair: We're repairing another memorial garden bench from the Bishop's Palace garden, ensuring its longevity for visitors to enjoy.
- Mud Kitchen for Local Scout Group: We're partnering with the Local Scout Group to build a 'Mud Kitchen' for use by their younger members.
