Welcome to the Wells Community Shed! A member of the UK Men’s Shed Association, our not-for-profit organisation is dedicated to enhancing the wellbeing and health of individuals aged 18 and older in the City of Wells and the surrounding area. We place a particular focus on older men, including those who are retired, unemployed, or facing health challenges.

At the heart of our mission is the belief that staying active, engaged, and socially connected is crucial for maintaining good health and overall wellbeing. Wells Community Shed provides a safe and welcoming environment where members can come together to work on woodworking projects, share their skills, and learn new crafts. Our activities range from personal woodworking projects to community-based initiatives, such as the restoration of memorial benches at the historic Bishop's Palace in Wells.

Through our facilities, members have access to a variety of tools and equipment, enabling them to pursue their hobbies, develop new interests, and contribute to meaningful community projects. The act of creating something with your hands can be incredibly therapeutic, and our members find great satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment in their woodworking endeavours.

Beyond the practical benefits, the Wells Community Shed is a place for social connection and camaraderie. Members gather to share stories, enjoy a cup of tea, and engage in a bit of banter before diving into their projects. This friendly and supportive atmosphere fosters a sense of belonging and community, which is vital for mental and emotional wellbeing.

Join us at Wells Community Shed and experience the positive impact of being part of a vibrant, active, and supportive community dedicated to improving health and wellbeing through the joy of woodworking and shared interests.
