UK Men's Shed Association
Men's Sheds originated in Australia and The Shed or any suitable building brought Men together to socialise and communicate and the concept was to address loneliness, Isolation and depression amongst elderly men. This was achieved by bringing them together and where possible and by choice perform crafts, either building on existing skills or learning new ones. The objective being to enable them get used to being together and help merge individuals into the local community.
The UK Men's Shed Association (UKMSA) is a support body for Men's Sheds across the UK. They work to inspire and support the development of as many Men's Sheds as possible for the benefit of one's health and well being. They are a member organisation representing UK Based Men's sheds.
